Guidelines for Creating a Technical Poster

CTR Symposium's poster session allows graduate students to showcase their research to state and local transportation professionals. This opportunity helps the student network with professionals and disseminate pertinent information to the people who can use the research results to improve processes at their agencies.

Did you present a poster at the upcoming TRB Annual Meeting? You may reuse your TRB poster at the CTR Symposium if you used the current CTR Poster Template.

All posters must use the approved CTR Poster Template. The following resources offer very good suggestions for creating an effective poster.

On-campus Printing

  • The Civil Engineering Learning Resource Center is a general use computing facility located on the 2nd floor of ECJ and open to all Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering students, faculty, and staff, as well as students currently enrolled in a CAEE course. A plotter is available in ECJ 2.206 for you to print your own poster.
  • UT Copy Services can print a poster for you; wide-format prices vary based on size and material used for printing. Contact them directly for instructions on how to send your file to them for printing.
